How To: Vintage Waves!

Unlike celebrities, most of us aren’t fortunate enough to have our hair professionally done every day! Hence, every woman should be armed with both the tools and knowledge to achieve a quick vintage inspired do… luckily, it’s very easy to do at home!

– Depending on the natural texture of your hair, you can start with it in its natural state, or if you’re looking for a bit more volume, blow-dry it with a texturising spray, such as Kevin.Murphy Anti.Gravity Spray.
– Part your hair deep onto one side. Then, using a curling iron or tong; separate your hair into square sections and start curling medium sized sections all going the same direction.
– Once you’ve curled your whole head, spray lightly with a medium-hold hairspray, which will help keep the waves in place, but won’t stiffen the hair too much.
– Use a soft-bristle brush or wide-toothed comb, and fully comb through the curls a number of times until you see the barrel wave start to take effect. Don’t be scared to over-brush; in fact, the more you brush, the more you’ll sculpt the curl, and the more shine you will bring out of your hair. A final spray of hairspray (and a touch of lippy) and you’re ready to hit the carpet!
